don't call it a comeback
How I’ve Missed You….. So it’s been an insane amount of time since I’ve written, shame on me. Life on the other side - as in post-graduation - has been very eventful and has now come to a sort of lull, or rather, stability that allows me to remind myself of something I’m supposed to be, a writer. That being said PLEASE do yourself a favor and read Alan Moore’s “Watchmen.” Forget the hype...

FW- Part II
There were too many shows for me to not do another posting on the goings-ons. Here are a few more noteable designers to check out.
Vera Wang: Tulle, black, lots of dresses and a little street edge comprise the spring collection of Ms. Wang. Known best, I feel, for her gowns and wedding dresses, this was certainly a more casual side; the shiny cigarette pants are of the moment, along with the...
Diane von Furstenberg: The bohemian/native look, complete with prints and feathery headbands, is the projection for Spring ‘09. The number of flowy, printed dresses was the unexpected part for me, but the soft colors were just lovely. Von Furstenberg is definitely a designer who can produce again and again memorable, beautiful pieces that any sane woman would want to wear.
Project Runway: WARNING!! This is potentially going to spoil this season’s picks for Bryant Park, so skip over if you do not want the end of the show ruined for you. I guess 6 is better than 3, because that’s how many designers from Project Runway’s Season 5 were allowed in the tents. Whether or not it was in the hopes of becoming the winner, we shall have to wait and see. Jerrel- Someone who...
Oscar de la Renta: You want classic dresses, sexy and chic ensembles? You want Oscar de la Renta. Day dresses, sophisticated separates, evening gowns - everything was gorgeous. From eyelet, to florals, structured pieces and feminine details, Oscar’s the man. I wanted to put up the whole collection but I figured that would take up a little too much space. I tried my best to give an overview of...
Michael Kors: Primary colors paired with a mixture of B+W serve as the palette for Kors’ Spring ‘09 line-up. Paying (obvious) homage to his Long Island upbringing, the collection can be no better described than foo-foo Hamptons chic. Although he considers himself to have classic American style, I wonder if the challenge will ever be made that classic style can change. Beyond prepster, even the...
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week '08
I was scheduled to attend Kahri’s show this season, which I was really looking forward to but, due to the horrid residual hurricane weather, my friend and I decided to forgo the trip. Boo hoo. So all I’m left to comment on are the details of shows which I was never slated to go to (at least not currently, but one day soon….). While browsing New York Magazine’s fashion coverage online, I...
Monique Lhuillier: Gorgeous. There’s not much else needs to be said. Full of beautifully designed dress which are feminine and modern, Lhuiller’s collection is comprised of mainly neutrals (black, browns, metallics) with a pop of blue and yellow here and there. Ranging from work-wear to evening gowns, the coming spring season will be even more welcome due to what’s in store from Lhuiller. Love...
